Woman Seen Shouting at Forces During CASO Booked under UAPA in Kulgam

A 30-year-old woman whose video went viral on Social media and was seen rounding up Government Force personnel snapping at them to stop their operation, “Which is troubling the Locals” has been booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

Saima Akhter, who is a resident of Frisal area in Kulgam has been booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act UA(P)A by Jammu Kasmir Police and has been lodged at the Yaripora Police Station, a senior Police official from Kulgam told The Kashmiriyat.

In a video, she heard and saying ” Kashmir Hamara hai, (This is our Kashmir).

She further said that she won’t allow the forces, to enter her home with shoes. A video of the incident went viral all over social media.

A Local told The Kashmiriyat that on 14 April 2021, the joint forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the  Karewa Mohallah of Village Frisal during which the woman shouted slogans at them.

The Police later identified the woman as Saima Akther who was working as a PSO with Jammu Kashmir Police. She has been accused of obstructing the search operation resisted the search party and turning violent at the Forces.

“She uttered statements glorifying violent actions of Militancy. She captured a video through her personal phone and forwarded it on social media platforms with the aim of disrupting the search,” the Police official said.

A Senior Police official confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat said that Saima Jan has been booked under the FIR number 19/2021 lodged at Police Station Yaripora under section 353 IPC and 13 UAPA.

The official said that she has been disengaged from her services with the Jammu Kashmir Police.
