A Government Force personnel was killed in a brief gunfight at Kachlu village in Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwata district early morning on Friday.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the Governemnt Forces had laid a siege around this Handwara area early morning on Friday, suspecting Militant presence in the area.
The hiding Militants soon opened fire, in which one Army man was killed.

Meanwhile in Mir Mohallah of Hajin in North Kashmir, the Government Forces including 1e RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir laid down a Cordon and Search Operation.
Large number of youth came out on the streets throwing stones on Government Forces, sources told The Kashmiriyat.
The Militants opened fire on The troopers conducting searches in the Mir Mohallah area.
As per the latest reports available, the locals have helped four Militants escape from the spot.
However, There is no official confirmation to Militants having escaped from the spot.
The search operations are still going on after the internet services were completely snapped in the Hajin area.
