Amid the ongoing encounters in Kulgam and Anantnag districts of south Kashmir, internet services have been snapped in the Damhal Hanjipora belt of Kulgam and Bijbehara belt of Anantnag district on Saturday.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that two encounters are going on in south Kashmir. “The operation in Kulgam is being jointly conducted by 09 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF in the Chek e Samad area of Kulgam’s DH Pora, and the operation in Anantnag’s Sirhama is being jointly conducted by Army’s 3 RR, JKP, and CRPF.”
A Police official involved in the operation in Sirhama said that one militant has been killed in the Sirhama encounter in Anantnag. “The militant has not been identified as of yet,” he said, adding that the body has been retrieved and the search operation is still going on.
Meanwhile, an intermittent exchange of gunfire is going on between militants and Government forces at the encounter site in Kulgam’s DH Pora.
Internet services have also been snapped in the DH Pora area of Kulgam.
“Encounter going on in two districts of south Kashmir LeT terrorist trapped in Anantnag and JeM terrorists in Kulgam,” the IGP Kashmir said.
