10 Youth Arrested During Nocturnal Raids in Kulgam

The Government Forces raided the Pooniwah area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District late night on Sunday and arrested at least ten boys from the area.

Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that Government Forces late night on Sunday broke into a few residential houses in this Kulgam  locality and arrested ten boys from their houses.

Some of the arrested have been identified as Mudasir Ahmed Khanday, Mubarak Sidiq, Basit Khanday and Ishfaq Bhat, all residents of Pooniwah area in Kulgam.

The Government Forces have been conducting nocturnal raids in Kashmir since 2010 when an uprising began in the aftermath of killing of a teenage boy Tufail Ahmed Matoo and thousands of boys have been arrested from their houses in the dark of the night.

A Police official upon being contacted said that nobody has been arrested from the locality.
