At least 107 incidents of man-animal conflict were reported in Central Kashmir this year, informed DFO Wild Life Warden on Monday.
Wild Life Warden, Central, Altaf Hussain while giving information said that 43 incidents of man-animal conflict were reported in Srinagar alone followed by 39 in Ganderbal and 25 in Khrew.
He said 21 persons sustained injuries in wild animal attacks, mostly from bears. “Two persons were injured in Srinagar, 17 in Ganderbal and two suffered injuries in Khrew,” Altaf Hussain said.
He said one person lost his life in 107 incidents.
“Budgam district is excluded as it is the domain of wetland authorities. Srinagar, Ganderbal and Khrew ranges fall in our jurisdiction where till November 20 this year, 107 incidents of man-animal conflict were reported,” he informed. (KNT)
