
Police on Sunday said to have arrested two bootleggers and recovering from their possession one-hundred thirty bottles of illicit liquor in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
“A police party from Police Station Baramulla led by SHO Baramulla, Inspector Showkat Ahmad under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla established a naka at Farooqi point Baramulla. During naka checking two persons roaming in a suspicious manner were stopped for checking. However, the said persons tried to flee from the spot after noticing police party, but with strenuous efforts he was apprehended tactfully and 130 bottles of illicit Liquor were recovered from their possession”, said a police spokesperson in a statement issued to GNS.
Identifying the accused as Saral Sa son of Sukhan Sa and Vikey Kumar son of Raju Sa, both residents of Kalash Nagar Nazimpur Bihar, the statement reads further reads that a case under relevant sections of Excise Act has been registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation initiated. (GNS)
