At least 14 people were killed and 17 others injured when a bus they were travelling in fell deep down into a 250 metre deep gorge in Tehri district of Uttarakhand.
The accident is reported to have happened at Kirgani on Rishikesh-Chamba-Gangotri highway around 8 am when the Uttarakhand Roadways was travelling at Tehri District.
Out of the 17 others injured, Six were flown in a chopper for treatment at AIIMS, Rishikesh, while the rest were being treated at Tehri District hospital in Tehri.
The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of those killed and Rs 50,000 for those injured.
