An 18 year old youth drowned while fishing in a pond at Chandigam area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Shaheen Ahmad Mir (18) son of Abdul Rashid Mir of Chandigam, Lolab along with his friends had gone for fishing when he slipped and drowned in Mir Ser (pond) in the locality.
The friends and others tried to evacuate him but he died on spot.
A police officer confirmed the death of the youth.
