
The Enforcement Wing of Agriculture Department has seized around 180 quintals of non-permissible fertiliser in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that after 19 hours of searches by the enforcement wing the accused was caught along with truck at Laroo Bypass in Kulgam.
He said the truck was moving from Gujrat to Kulgam in a suspicious manner. “From Qazigund tunnel we followed the truck and after 19 hours the driver was arrested and vehicle was also seized.
He said 180 quintals of non-permissible fertiliser in 900 packed bags was also seized.
“The enforcement wing is to ensure quality fertilisers, pesticides are made available to the farming community through proper sale outlets at the right time,” he said—(KNO)
