Two Militants been killed in the ongoing encounter that broke out between government forces and militants in the Nagnad area of Czimmer in Damhal Hanjippra belt of Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday morning.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched in the area by a joint team of forces including Army’s 09RR, CRPF and JK police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the Nagnad area.
He said that after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, they opened fire which was retaliated, this triggering an encounter.
The official said that during the gunfight two Militant have been killed so far, who are yet to be identified, two troopers have also been injured in the initial exchange of gunfire.
The wounded troopers were shifted to Army’s 92 Base hospital in Srinagar.
