Two Lashkar e Taiba Militants have been reportedly killed in the encounter that raged in Islamabad township of South Kashmir early morning on Wednesday.
The gunfight raged around 4:30 am when Militants opened fire on a group of Army men who were conducting search operation in the area, officials said.
Following specific input about Militant presence in the area, the Government Forces had launchd a Cordon and Search operation around 1 am, they said.

The Forces from Army’s 1 RR, 40 and 162 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police had jointly launched the search operation.
The gunfight continued for nearly 6 hours and the army is still conducting search operations in the houses.
As per initial reports Bilal Ahmed of Kulgam and a Abid Hussain Bhat from Doda have been killed as told by The Kashmiriyat earlier, however Army officials are yet to confirm anything.
