The current year, 2018 has seen more than 90 per cent increase in the militancy-related incidents against the last year.
As per the figures submitted to the Parliament recently by the JK Police and army, the current year saw 244 militancy-related incidents till October 7, compared to last year’s 131.
The Data also claims that 166 militants have been killed during anti-militancy operations till now, while the last year recorded 213 Militant killings.
74 among the 166 militants have been killed in south Kashmir among which 46 have been killed in Shopian alone.
6 Government Force personnel have also been killed till now in the state.
In the last nine years, 2013 has recorded lowest militant killings (65) in the state during 57 encounters. 31 soldiers were also killed during the period.
2018 till now recorded 1,128 ceasefire violation, the previous year witnessed 860 such incidents.
Army recently claimed that around 300 militants were currently active in the valley.
It, in July this year the Forces claimed that nearly 100 militants were active in south Kashmir and nearly 90 militants were operating in north of the valley.
