April 03 The killing of 13 militants in the Kashmir Valley in one night was unusual but it came as ultras had gathered at one spot to hold a “planning conference.” The Army used good ground-based information and technology to bust such a big group of armed militants. Sources here said the encounter at Draggad village in Shopian district was the biggest as it led to the death of seven militants. The militants were to hold the “planning conference” to chalk out their strategy for the summer ahead at a house in the village. Arm of a Slain Militant Found 2 Days After Shopian Encounter

April 03 The Arm of a Slain Militant was two days after he was killed in an encounter with Government Forces at Kacdoora area of Shopian in South Kashmir. "The Arm was found inside the rubles of the house in which 5 Militants were killed on Sunday,' A local told The Kashmiriyat. The crowds present at the encounter site burst into wails and tears as the arm was found, the local said. The Arm was later taken to a local graveyard, he said. 5 Militants were killed in an encounter with Government forces on Sunday in a residential house in Kachdoora area. Four of them were identified as Aetimad Fayaz Malik, A resident of Amashipora, Ihsfaq Thokur from Paddderpora Shopian, Sameer Ahmed Lone from Hilow Shopian, Mohammed Abbas Bhat of Kulgam.

April 03 The recent killings of civilians in Kashmir "needs to be investigated," Stephane Dijarric, the spokesperson for Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Monday as protests swept the state. "Civilians have to be protected wherever they are, whether it is in Gaza, whether it is in Jammu and Kashmir, whether it is in Yemen; it is a basic principle," he said in reply to a reporter's question.
