South Kashmir Shuts to Remember Qazi Nisar

June 19 Photo/ Umer Fayaz A Complete shutdown is being observed in Pulwama, Kulgam, Parts of Shopian and Islamabad (Anantnag) District to commemorate the anniversary of slain Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Dr. Qazi Nisar. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that educational institutes have shut, Oil stations closed while Restrictions have been imposed in the township of Islamabad, Achabal, Kulgam while concertina wires have been placed at all the entry points of Islamabad township. Dr. Qazi Nisar was assassinated by unidentified gunmen in 1994 on June 19.

Nocturnal Raid at the house of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir

June 18 The Jammu Kashmir Police late night on Tuesday raided the house of Mirwaiz Qazi Ahmed yasir in South Kashmir's Islamabad. A Police party raided the house around 11:15 pm to arrest Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir from his house, who is scheduled to lead a pro Freedom rally tomorrow. The Police was unable to arrest Mirwaiz as he has gone into a hiding and will lead a pro Freedom rally tomorrow from islamabad's Jamia Masjid tomorrow after Zuhr prayers. The Ummat e Islami has also called for a complete shutdown on the anniversary of slain Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Qazi Nisar Ahmed.

June 18 (Image Used for Representation) Jahangeer Ganie The Government Forces Launched a Cordon and Search Operation around Bus Stand Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Official Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 42 RR of Indian Army launched the operation. Meanwhile intense clashes are going on in Samboora area of Pulwama District. Clashes began when youth shouting pro Freedom Slogans hurled stones on Government Forces and Protesters. The Troops used tear smoke shells to disperse protesting youth, However normalcy had been restored when the report was filed.

June 18 One civilian has been killed in firing upon protesters in Nowapora Akhran area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Tuesday evening. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that two civilians were injured when Army opened fire upon protesting civilians in the area. Stone Pelting Clashes in Achabal Area

April 18 Waris Shah Intense Clashes began on Tuesday Evening in Achabal area of Islamabad in South Kashmir. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that scores of youth istarted throwing stones on a Local Police Post in the area. The troops chased away the protesting youth. However the clashes were going on when this report was filed.

Freedom Party Pays Tributes to Qazi Nisar

June 18 Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP on Monday paid rich and glowing tributes to Islamic Scholar and Ummat-E-Islami Chief, Dr Qazi Nissar Ahmad on his 24th death anniversary. Dr Qazi Nisar Ahmad, one of the founders of Muslim United Front (MUF) was killed by unidentified gunmen in Dialgam village of Islamabad on June 19, 1994. Paying glowing tributes to the slain leader, a JKDF said that Dr Qazi Nisar was a great religious scholar and a patriot who always laid emphasis on the unity of Ummah. June 18 (Image Used for Representation) The Government forces laid down a Cordon and search operation in Samboora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 50 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. A Door to door search operation has been launched in the area. June 18 The Ummat e Islami has called for a complete shutdown in South Kashmir on the anniversary of slain Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed on Tuesday. The Ummat e Islami has asked people to observe a complete shutdown tomorrow against his killing. As Per a press release, a rally will be taken out to commemorate the anniversary of the Dr. Qazi Nisar from Jamia Masjid tomorrow at 1:30 pm. June 10 The Jammu and Kashmir Police has conducted an intensive study of 156 local youth who joined militancy from 2010-2016. The 74 Page report as accessed by The Indian Express is based on the interviews of the families, friends, relatives and the affiliates of the militants. The report also negates the radicalization factor and says most (71%) of the new age militants come from Hanafiya families against 3 per cent of Salafi families and 23% from Jama’at e Islami families. Some of the Highlights of the report are: 32 percent of youths who joined militancy had passed Class X. 19 per cent undergraduates and graduates while 7 per cent were post-graduates constitute. 56 per cent had studied in government schools, 34 per cent had studied in both government and private school...
