Grenade Attack in Shopian

July 31 Suspected Militants hurled a Grenade on Chillipora camp of 44RR of Indian Army on Tuesday Night. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Militants hurled a Grenade on the camp, however the Army fired in the air forcing the Militats to escape from the spot. July 31 A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched in Batpora of Niloora area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Tuesday. The 55 RR Of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched the operation, Officials told The Kashmiriyat. Locals said that huge contingents of troops are conducting a search operation in the area. The search operation has been launched following a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area, Officials said.

06 Drug Peddlers arrested by Jammu Kashmir Police

July 31 The Jammu Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested Six people on charges of drug peddling in two separate incidents in Samba and Rajouri districts of Jammu Kashmir. In the first incident, a car was intercepted by Jammu Kashmir Police last night at Sunderbani area in Rajouri district and three people were arrested with 18 grams of brown sugar, Police said. In the second incident, three persons were arrested in connection with peddling of 20 grams of heroin in Samba district. They were identified as Surinder, Abhishek Sharma and Ajay Sharma.

Body of Mudasir Handed Over to Family-Stone Pelting Clashes in Barzulla

July 31 Intense Clashes have erupted in the Barzulla area of Srinagar on Tuesday between the youth and Government Forces. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro Militancy and pro Freedom slogans threw stones on Government Forces deployed in the areas. The Forces fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting youth, however the clashes were going on when this report was filed. Pertinently the body of Mudasir from Barzulla who was killed in a gunfight on June 29 in Kupwara has been handed over to his family. Health of Nawaz Sharif is Improving- Doctors Say

July 31 Two days after being shifted from jail, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif is recuperating at PIMS hospital, according to Geo News on Tuesday. The doctors, however, rejected reports about former prime minister being sent back to the jail as incorrect. According to doctors, blood pressure and ECG reports of Sharif were not completely normal last night and he is due to undertake fresh examination. The TV channel reported that Heart Specialist Dr Naeem would conduct medical examination of Sharif today. Search Operation in Laizbal Islamabad

July 31 The Government Forces on Tuesday launched a Search operation in Lazibal area on KP road in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the vehicles of Forces reached the area on Tuesday afternoon and started a search operation in the area. The Army and Jammu Kashmir Police is jointly conducting the search operation. A Police official said it was a 'normal' patrol however locals contested the version of Police and said that the troops are frisking every lane and by lane in the area.

5 Teachers Suspended for being Absent in Ganderbal

July 31 Rayees Shah Five teachers were suspended on Tuesday for absence from their school in Central Kashmir's Ganderbal District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that during a surprise visit, five teachers identified as Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Mohammed Ashraf Sheikh, Riyaz and Bashir Ahmed were suspended from Government Boys Middle School in Behki Margoona area in Ganderbal. They said that the headmaster of the school Firdous Ahmed Shah was also found absent and hence suspended. The five teachers have been placed under suspension immediately till further orders, Sources told The kashmiriyat.

First Time in Kupwara- Rifle of a Policeman Snatched

July 31 For the First time in District Kupwara, Unknown persons overpowered a cop and snatched a service rifle from a cop in Kandhar area of North Kashmir's Kupwara District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat a policeman attached as a security personnel to former minister and Abdul Haq Khan was overpowered by some persons who snatched his service near Kandhar area.
