Police Meets Public in Ganderbal

July 20 Rayees Shah To bridge the gap between Police and Public, Police community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was held at Police Post Gutlibagh today. The meeting was headed by DySP HQRs Aashiq Hussain JKPS, in which a number of responsible and respectable citizens of the area participated. “The focus of the meeting remained community policing and co operative work to curb the social evils.” a statement issued to Valley Online reads. “Dysp HQRs emphasised on moral responsibilities on individual level and also described the role of police” it adds. 8 Million People Slaved in India- Survey

July 20 The Global Slavery Index 2018 estimates that on any given day in 2016 there were nearly 8 million people living in “modern slavery” in India. The report said, there were 6.1 victims for every thousand people. Among 167 countries, India ranked 53 with North Korea at the top of the list with 104.6 per 1,000 and Japan registering the lowest prevalence rate of 0.3 per 1,000. Aerial Firing to Disperse Protesters in Zainapora Shopian

July 20 Intense Clashes have erupted on Friday afternoon in the Wachi Zainapora area of Shopian District in South Kashmir. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that the clashes began after scores of youth started throwing stones on a Army vehicle that passed through the area. The troops tried to chase away the protesting youth and when the protesters regrouped the Army fired in the air to disperse the protesters. However the clashes were going on when this report was filed.

Syrian Rebels Surrender at Quneitra

July 20 Rebels in Syria’s south have to the negotiate surrender of a sensitive southwestern zone bordering the ­Israeli-annexed Golan Heights, reports revealed. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the ceasefire deal covering most of Quneitra province would see government institutions return to the area in exchange for rebels handing over heavy weapons. State news agency SANA said it had preliminary information on a deal for the army to return to its pre-2011 positions in the area. Fakhar Zaman Breaks Record- Scores Double Century

July 20 Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman became the sixth international batsman and the first Pakistani player to score a double hundred, when he smashed 210 off just 156 deliveries against Zimbabwe in the fourth ODI at Bulawayo. Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman put on a 304-run opening stand on a flat wicket, which is also a record for highest opening partnership in ODIs. Zaman completed his ton off 92 balls and then stepped on the accelerator, reaching the 150 mark off just 115 deliveries. He smashed 24 boundaries and five sixes in the innings. The opener also broke Saeed Anwar's record of highest score by a Pakistani player in ODIs. Anwar had scored 194 against India in 1997.

July  20 A Cordon and Search operation has been launched at of Khah Mohallah of Melhoora area in South Kashmir's Shopian District on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police jointly launched the cordon and search operation in the locality. Another Educated Youth Joins Militant Ranks

July 20 Another Youth from South Kashmir has joined Militant ranks making him one of the at least hundred youth to have joined Militant ranks this year. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Syed Ruban, a son of Syed Hussain Shah has joined Militant outfit, Jaish e Muhammad. The 21 year old, a graduate was missing from his home in Nazneenpora area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. South Kashmir have been joining Militancy swiftly since the three encounters of April 01 when 13 Militants were killed in a single day. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that they're checking the authenticity of the photo that has appeared on the internet.

Another CASO Launched in Islamabad

July 2 The Indian Army's 19RR and Jammu Kashmir Police have launched a massive Cordon and search operation in Anderwan and Shalnad Villages of Kokernag area in South Kashmir's Islamabad. Officials confirmed that the CASO was launched following specific inputs about Militant movement in the villages. The Forces have cordoned off the villages and sealed the entry and exit points before initiating a search operation in the area. This is pertinently the second CASO launched in the district since morning, a CASO is also going on in Krangsoo, Mattan area of the District.
