July 25 Two Lashkar e Taiba Militants have been reportedly killed in the encounter that raged in Islamabad township of South Kashmir early morning on Wednesday. Intense Clashes Erupt in Islamabad Township

July 25 Intense Clashes have erupted on new bypass (Mehandi Kadal to Ashajipora road) in Islamabad township of South Kashmir on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro Freedom and pro Islam slogans threw stones on Government Forces. Government Forces are engaged in a gunfight with Militants trapped in a house of Mehmaan Mohallah in Lal chowk area of Islamabad (Anantnag) township. The Forces fired aerial shots and tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting youth, however the clashes were going on when this report was filed. No Clashes have been reported from anywhere else in the township.

Another Encounter Starts at Kupwara

July 25 A massive gunfight has raged in the Kashar Katan hall in Keran sector of North Kashmir's Kupwara District early morning on Wednesday. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that a group of armed Militants were seen hiding in the forest area near the line of control. Army's 14 RR cordoned off the area following which Militants hiding in the area opened fire upon them, triggering off an exchange of gunfire. Additional reinforcements of Army and Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police were rushed to the spot. Heavy exchange of fire was on from both sides when last reports came.

An encounter pertinently raged in the township after a gap of more than 12 years. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that 1 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 162 BN and 40 BN of CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation around 1 am. July 24 The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has constituted a Marcos team to trace out the boy who drowned in river Jhelum on Tuesday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Sahir Rashid Trumboo aged 09, a resident of Monawarabad, Khayam drowned while taking bath in the Jhelum river near Nathpora, Khanbal area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Shivling Melts Completely- 2,42,165 Yatris Have visited Till Now

July 24 The ice shivling at the Amarnath cave in Jammu Kashmir has melted completely, as on Sunday evening. “The shivling has melted but ‘Mata Parvati’ is still intact,” camp director Sachin Jamwal told media reporters. The yatra is still continuing and approximately 5,000 pilgrims are visiting the cave every day. “Whether or not the shivling melts, yatris continue to visit because the cave itself has tremendous religious significance,” Jamwal added. On the 27th day of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 1,629 Yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave. Till date 2,42,165 Yatris had the darshan of the Shivling at the Holy Cave.

Hizb Claims responsibility of Batamaloo Attack

July 24 Militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen while owning the responsibility of Batamaloo attack said that a paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man was killed after the boys affiliated with Hizb attacked them. The outfit Operational Spokesperson Burhanuddin said that a couple of militants from the outfit carried an attack on Indian troopers resulting in the death of a CRPF man and injuries to others. Pertinently, the militants carried out the attack in busy Batamaloo near Fire and Emergency Service office creating panic in the area.
