1 CRPF Man Killed in Batamaloo, Stone Pelting Starts

July 24 Massive Stone throwing clashes have Erupted in Batamaloo area of Srinagar on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Militants fired upon a party of CRPF near Fire station Headquarters in Batamaloo area injuring two men of CRPF at the spot. One of the injured CRPF men has succumbed to his injuries on the way to the Hospital. Immediately after the attack, the forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area. Scores of youth hit the streets in Batamaloo shouting pro Freedom and threw stones on the troopers. The clashes were going on when this report was filed.

Massive CASO launched in Shopian Area

July  24 A Cordon and Search operation has been launched at Dugpora area of South Kashmir's Shopian District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 44 RR of Indian, Army and Jammu Kashmir police jointly launched the cordon and search operation in the locality. Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces have launched a CASO  in the area. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that the search operation is still going on as hundreds of troopers are conducting a door to door search operation. Details emerging.

338 Ceasefire Violations during Ramadan Ceasefire

July 24 A total of 338 incidents of ceasefire violation and cross-border firings were reported in Jammu Kashmir during the month of Ramzan, Minister Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said today. At least 14 forces personnel and 11 civilians were killed in the cross-border firing from Pakistan in April and June, he told the Lok Sabha. “During the month of Ramzan – from May 17 to June 16 – altogether 338 incidents of ceasefire violation and cross-border firings were reported in Jammu and Kashmir as against 139 during April 16 to May 16,” Ahir, the minister of state for home, said, replying to a written question. Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, responding to a separate question, said as many as 272 infiltrations were reported along the Indo-Myanmar border, 108 along the Indo-Pakistan...

40 Minor Girls aged from 7-17 Raped inside a Shelter home in Bihar

July 24 A girl at a government-funded shelter home here has alleged that an inmate was beaten to death and buried in the premises and several other girls were raped, prompting the Bihar police to dig up the ground to look for the body.Sexual exploitation of girls lodged at the shelter home in Bihar had come to light in a social audit by a Mumbai-based institute, following which the state social welfare department lodged an FIR in this connection last month and 10 people were arrested. 3 Arrested with 44 Kilos of Fukki

July 24 Three alleged drug peddlers were arrested in Jammu Kashmir’s Poonch district and 44 kilograms of poppy straw was seized from their possession, the police said today. Last evening, a private car was stopped for checking at Pushana village along the Mughal Road and a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 44 kgs of poppy straw, a police officer said. At least 50 Dead in Greece Forest fire

July 24 The death toll from twin wildfires that raged through Greek seaside areas looked set to increase to around 50 Tuesday after rescue crews reported finding the bodies of more than 20 people huddled closely together near a beach northeast of the capital, Athens. July 23 Aerial firing and intense tear smoke shelling was used upon protesters in Harmain area of South Kashmir's Shopian District on Monday afternoon. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that massive stone throwing clashes erupted after forces launched a CASO in the Harmain area. 11 ISIS Militants Surrender in Afghanistan

July 23 At least eleven militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria have surrendered to the Afghan armed forces in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan, reports said. The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the militants surrendered and handed over five weapons and six motorcycles to the Afghan armed forces. The development comes as ISIS militant groups intend to expand their foothold in this province. This comes as sporadic clashes are also underway between the Taliban and ISIS militants in certain parts of Jawzjan province. Over 100 affiliates of both the groups have been killed in the clashes.
