Grenade Attack At Tahab Army Camp

PULWAMA
July 06 Unidentified persons hurled a grenade on a joint camp of CRPF and RR in Tahab area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons hurled a grenade inside the camp responding to which the alert sentry fired in some shots in the air. As per initial reports nobody was injured in the attack. Details Emerging.

2 Day Shutdown Call by Hurriyat

July 06 The Hurriyat leadership has called for a complete shutdown on Saturday against the shifting of Asiya Andrabi to Delhi by NIA. The Leadership comprising of Yasin malik, Mirwaiz Umar and Geelani have called the arrest and the shifting of the Hurriyat leader as inhumane and Brazen. The leadership had earlier issued a Shutdown call for Sunday on the anniversary of Slain Hizb Commander, Burhan Wani. Burhan was killed in a gunfight on July 08, 2016 at Bamdoora area in Kokernag of South Kashmir's islamabad (Anantnag) District. Meanwhile the Government Forces have imposed restrictions in Srinagar area ahead of the anniversary of the slain Militant commander.

“Teachers Mercilessly Assault a Student with Hockey Sticks in Bijbehara”

July 06 A student identified as Rahil Raja studying at ML Higher Secondary Bijbehara studying in class 12th Class has been mercilessly assaulted by teachers inside the school premises on Friday. A family members of Rahil told The Kashmiriyat that Rahil was rounded up by three teachers inside the schools ground and assaulted Mercilessly with hockey sticks. He said that one of the teacher snatched the bag of one of his friend when they were hanging around in the school ground after which Rahil requested the teacher to return the bag to them "The teacher got furious and started assaulting him and two others joined later in the merciless thrashing," the family member said. Rahil has been admitted at Sub District Hospital in Bijbehara where his condition is stated to be critical....

Two Boys Die While taking Bath in Qazigund

July 06 Sheikh Nadeem/ Waris Shah Two Nomad Boys died while taking bath at Tarigam Qazigund area of South Kashmir's Islamabad  (Anantnag) District on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that both the boys went to take bath in a local Nallah and drowned  after which their dead bodies were recovered from the Nallah. The Duo were identified as Talib Hussain son of Shakeel Ahmad Jangle Aged 14 years old resident of Kasori Tehsil and District Kathua and Ishfaq Ahmad  aged 17 years Resident of Gurrain District in Samba. The Police later came to the spot of the incident and clarified it as a case of drowning. A Police official posted in Qazigund while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that the bodies of the duo have been handed over to their families.

July 06 Suspected militants hurled a Rifle grenade at the house of Ex MLA, Mohammed Ashraf Bhat in Tral area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons hurled the rifle grenade at the house of NC member and EX MLA after Friday prayers. Army Colonel Involved in the Murder of Journalist Gauri Lankesh

July 06 In a major breakthrough in the investigation to the murder of Bangalore based journalist Gauri Lankesh, the SIT probing the case suspects that four top-level leaders of a pro-Hindutva outfit were the ones who conceived the plot to kill her and other rationalists. The outfit is asserted to be the extremist cult known as the Sannatan Sanstha. Imam Shot at By Unidentified Gunmen in Pulwama

July 06 The preacher of a local mosque in Parigam area of South Kashmir's Pulwama was shot at by unidentified gunmen hours before his Friday sermon early morning today. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Mohammed Ashraf Thoker, an Imam of Masjid Hanfiya at Parigam Pulwama was shot at in his legs by the gunmen. Ashraf is a resident of Bijbehara and has been shifted to Srinagar for specialised treatment. The Jammu Kashmir Police has lodged an investigation into the incident and an investigation has been launched into the incident.

Abducted Policeman found Dead in Kulgam

July 06 A Constable of J&K Police who was abducted by unidentified gunmen from his home in Vehil Kachdoora Shopain was now found dead. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that his dead body found in Pariwan area of South Kashmir's kulgam district early morning on Friday. Identified as Javaid Ahmed Dar, he was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen from his house in the shopian area. The Government Forces had launched massive manhunt to find Javaid, but to no success as his dead body has been found.

A Decade on, Wacchi Bridge in Shopian awaits completion

July 05 A vital bridge in Wachi village of South Kashmir's Shopian district on rivulet Ranbiara that got damaged before ten years awaits for reconstruction. Locals accuse the government of step motherly attitude  towards the area in southern Shopian district. Commonly known as Wachi Bridge, the link lost the capacity to ferry heavy vehicles after it was partially damaged 10 years back. Before 4 years authorities started work on a new bridge, but after some time they stopped the construction for unknown reasons, Zahid Najar a resident of Wachi told The Kashmiriyat.
