July 04 An Anti militancy militancy operation has been launched in Sethergund, Kakpora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 50 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police jointly launched the cordon and search operation in the locality. Following a specific input about Militant movement, the troops have launched a search operation in the area. Details emerging.

7 Arrested in Night Raids in Pulwama Area, Locals Allege Vandalization

July 04 The Government Forces have been alleged of ransacking the properties of locals during a Cordon and Search Operation in the Ruhmoo area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the forces entered the house after the found nothing in the area when they conducted search operation in the area. They said that seven youth were arrested during the night raids. “They entered into the households and assaulted locals and broke everything they saw inside the houses," a local told The Kashmiriyat. He alleged that even women and children were not spared. A Police official said that a nocturnal raid was conducted in the village and some stone throwers have been arrested in the area.

Cloudburst Hits Tral, 4 Recovered from Flashfloods in Udhampur

One Dead Body Found in Srinagar Lake

July 04 A dead body was retrieved from Nigeen Lake in Srinagar a day after a boat carrying four people capsized in the lake after getting caught in a windstorm. The deceased has been identified as Umar Ahmed from Ellahi Bagh of Srinagar. Two among the four managed to swim back, while two were missing, the body of a missing person was retrieved today morning while as search for the other missing person is still underway.

5 Amarnath Pilgrims Die, Landslides Block Mughal Road

July 04 Rayees Shah Three pilgrims died and many injured due to landslides during pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas. Two pilgrims also died due to cardiac arrest today, reports said. Meanwhile the traffic on Srinagar-Leh  Highway was disrupted for some time on Tuesday evening due to landslides at various places along highway triggered by heavy  rains , reports said. They said that due to incessant rains that lashed valley on Tuesday evening , landslide occurred at Sumbal Bala , Aku Gund and Bajri Nallah along Sgr-Leh highway due to which the road remained blocked for hours . Hundreds of vehicles remained stranded on both sides on the highway.
