Shopian Village Cordoned by Forces

SHOPIAN
August 24 A cordon and Search Operation has been launched by troops in the Kumdalan area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Following a specific input, the Forces including 34RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched the Anti Militancy cordon and Sear ch operation in the area. Official Sources said that the forces have blocked all the entry and exit points to the Kumdalan area as presence of Militants is expected. The forces have launched a door to door search operation in the area.

LeT Denies Involvement in the Killing of Forest Employee in Kunzer Baramulla

August 24 Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) on Friday has strongly denounced the murder of Tariq Ahmad in Kunzer, Tangmarg at the hands of unknown gunmen in the North Kashmir area. In a statement issued to a local news agency, the spokesman of the Militant outfit, Mehmood Shah has said that, “Tariq Ahmad was killed by police. The allegation of killing Tariq against the freedom fighters is nothing other than trash." Search Lights Installed, Door to Door Search Operation Continues in Shopian Area

August 24 The Government Forces on Friday jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the the Moolu Chitragam area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the forces including 44 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Moolu Chitragam area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Moolu Chitragam locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. The forces installed LED Lights as a massive door to door search operation is underway. Pertinently Moolu Chitragam is the native to Mufti Tariq of Hizb ul Mujahideen. (The Kashmiriyat)  

15 year old Boy Drowns in Sindh in Ganderbal

August 24 Rayees Shah A Teenage boy on Friday drowned  in Nallah Sindh near dumping park of Kangan in central Kashmir's ganderbal district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a 15 year old boy named Nadeem bashir son of Bashir Ahmed Mir, a resident of Hayan Palpora slipped into the Nallah and drowned in the river. The Police however reached the spot and said that they have launched rescue operations to fish out the body of the young boy. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that the Police is trying its best to find the body as soon as possible.

Redwani Residents accuse forces of Vandalization

August 24 The locals of Redwani area in Quimoh belt of South Kashmir's Kulgam District have accused the forces of Vandalization in the area. Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat alleged that the forces after failing to find anything during a Cordon and Search Operation in the area, vandalized property in the area. They Said that the forces broke window panes of the houses and damaged vehicles before they were about to leave the area. They alleged that the forces also fired shots at the civilian protesters injuring many who have been shifted to the Hospitals. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government Forces including 55 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a joint Anti Militancy operation in the area following specific input about Militant presence in the Putrigam area. Locals said that a heavy contingent of Forces have reached the area and are conducting a search operation in the area. The search operation was going on when this report was filed.

Drunk Husband Beats Wife to Death in Jammu

August 24 A young woman was beaten to death by her drunk husband in presence of her two children in the village in Basholi tehsil of Kathua district. The murderer, Rajinder Kumar of village Mahanpur beat his wife, Kiran Devi 23 mercilessly in presence of their two kids and inflicted serious injuries on her person resulting in her instant death. Reports said that Thakur Dass, the father of the accused informed the Jammu Kashmir Police about the murder. Thakur Dass told the police that his drunken son beat his wife Kiran Devi to death last night after a verbal fight took place between them.

House Gutted in a Fire Mishap in Sopore

August 24 Shabir Khan A residential house was gutted in a fire mishap in the Sopore town of North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a residential house in Sadiq colony Sopore belonging to one, Zaffar Ahmed War was damaged partially in a fire mishap which broke out on Friday morning.
