Clashes Erupt During CASO In Sopore

August 16 Shabir Khan Massive Clashes erupted during a CASO launched in Tujar Shareef area of Sopore in North Kashmir's Baramulla District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 22 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 179 BN CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. Locals Accuse Troopers of Vandalization After Failed CASO in Khudwani

August 16 The Locals of Wani Mohallah Locality in Khudwani area of Quimoh Tehsil in South kashmir's Kulgam district on Thursday accused the Government Forces of vandalization in the area. A local while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that the forces threw stones on the windows of houses breaking glasses after they failed to find anything in the area during a search operation. Road Accident in Baramulla- 8 Injured

August 16 Atleast eight passengers sustained injuries after vehicle they were traveling in turned turtle at Nowpora wagoora village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday. Sources said that a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK05-4851 was on its way to Baramulla from Khaitangan village when the driver lost control and vehicle turned turtle at Nowpora village, resulting injuries to eight passengers. All the injured were rushed to local hospital for  treatment.

Third CASO of the Day- Forces Lay Siege Around Khudwani Area

August 16 Following an input about Militant Movement, the Cordon and search operation of the day has been launched in Wani Mohallah locality of Khudwani in South Kashmir's Kulgam District. Four Army Men Injured in Ongoing Encounter in North Kashmir

August 16 Four Government Force personnel have been injured in a gunfight that broke our between Militants and Government Forces in Nowgam Sector along Line of Control that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan. Reports revealed that the gunfight began when a Group of Militants was intercepted by Army near the Sangam Post in Nowgam Sector along the LOC early morning on Thursday. In the exchange of fire, four Army men sustained injuries and were shifted to the hospital for treatment. A heated exchange of gunfire was on when this report was filed.
