Illicit timber seized in Ganderbal

August 15 Rayees Shah Taking the benefit of present situation, the forest smugglers have started to loot the green gold.The timber smugglers have cut the green lush forest cover which is visible all across the state. Meanwhile Forest department and forest protection in a joint operation on monday late evening has seized a maruti car which was ferrying medium quantity of illicit timber at Preng Head In Ganderbal District. August 15 Moments after Modi rejected the path of violence to resolve Kashmir issue, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy has said that Kashmir is a part of India. Authorities Seal 12 Clinics in Qazigund

August 15 Block Medical Officer (BMO) Qazigund sealed twelve private clinics and two diagnostic centers in Qazigund area of Kulgam district for not following the guidelines of the health department. The authorities on Tuesday woke up to the mushrooming of diagnostic centers in the block Qazigund by sealing unregistered labs in the area. The owners of clinics and diagnostic centers were warned to make improvement and strictly adhere to all guidelines within one week otherwise stringent action will be taken against them. August 14 The Locals of Pooniwah area in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Tuesday Night accused the Government Forces of vandalizing property in the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that some youth threw stones on the Army vehicles after which the Army men stopped their vehicles and barged inside homes, vandalizing everything that met their eye. They said the forces also assaulted many youth and did not even spare the old adding that three youth were taken into detention. Hizb Planning to Shift Base from South to North Kashmir- Agencies

August 14 The Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen is now shifting focus from South to North Kashmir. So far, their base has been South Kashmir, but after the Operation All Out and the heavy casualty the group has suffered, the Militant group, as per a report is planning to shift its base to North Kashmir. According to Intelligence Agencies of India, Hizbul is working on North Kashmir for two purposes. Road Accident in Pahalgam- Three Members of a Family Injured

August 14 Three members of a family were injured on Tuesday, when the vehicle they were travelling in, skidded off the road and plunged into Lidder River near Langanbal area of Pahalgam in South Kashmir. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the vehicle on way to Pahalgam skidded off the road and rolled into the Lidder River. All the injured persons were rescued by police and shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment.
