August 30 The House of an active militant was ransacked by forces in the Amshipora area of South Kashmir's Shopian district, the family claimed. A Local from the area told The Kashmiriyat that forces barged into the house of active Militant, Shah Jahan and vandalized the property in the house. "They even tried to set ablaze the house of Shah Jahan, but due to the timely intervention of locals, the fire was doused off on time," he said. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government Forces including 55 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a joint Anti Militancy operation in the area following specific input about Militant presence in the Muran area. Unidentified Gunmen abduct son of Policeman in Tral

August 29 Unknown gunmen late night on Wednesday kidnapped the son of a policeman in Pinglish area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Asif Ahmed Rather son of Rafiq Ahmed Rather has been kidnapped late night on Wednesday by unidentified Gunmen. August 29 The Government Forces on Wednesday claimed to have busted three militant modules operating in the area and made nine arrests in Awantipora area of South Kashmir. Detailing the incident, the Police said that a joint team arrested five members of the module from Awantipora and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession. Youth Shot by Forces for not stopping at Check Post in Kulgam

August 29 A youth identified as Mudasir Ahmed has been shot by Government Forces outside their camp at Behbagh camp in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that that soldiers from 34 RR of Indian Army fired upon a biker allegedly after he did not stop at the Behibagh check point. The youth has been identified the youth as Mudasir Ahmed Thokar, a resident of Kadder Kulgam. Officials confirmed the incident to The Kashmiriyat and said that Mudasir was was driving at a very high speed and didn’t stop at two check points. Budgam- Youth Thrashes Girl, Tears Apart her clothes, Tries to Molest her

August 29 A 12th class girl was assaulted up by a twenty year old outside the Higher Secondary School Pakherpora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a youth identified as Nazim Ahmad Dar, resident of Pakherpora caught hold of a girl student and thrashed her, after which he also tore apart her clothes and made an attempt to molest her. Kashmir University Postpones Entrance Exams Scheduled on 30,31 August

August 29 The University of Kashmir has postponed all the entrance exams scheduled to be held on the 30 and 31 of August in view of the strike call in defense of Article 35a. The University has notified all the candidates that Kashmir University PG Entrance Test in Islamic Studies, Biochemistry, Commerce and Chemistry has been rescheduled and will be held on 5 th of September, 2018 and in Library & Information Sciences and Mathematics will be held on 6 th of September, 2018. The time and venue for all the subjects will remain same, the notification read. Besides, the candidates who are going to appear in the Entrance Test for M.P.Ed. Scheduled to be held on 02-09-2018 at 03:00 PM are hereby directed to download their Admit Cards afresh.
