Lashkar Commander- Umar Malik Likely Killed in Shopian Gunfight

August 03 Umar Nazir Malik, the district commander of Lashkar e Taiba has been reportedly killed in a gunfight that raged late night in Kiloora area of Shopian District in South Kashmir. Umar had joined Lashkar e Taiba in 2017 and had been allegedly involved in many Militant activities. He was killed in a gun battle that raged when Government Forces cordoned off the Kiloora area in Shopian following a specific input about Militant movement in the area. After a brief exchange of gunfire, Umar was hit with a bullet and killed. The troops including 44 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF are now jointly conducting search operations in the area.

Forces Assault Youth in Tral

August 03 A Youth has been allegedly assaulted by Government Forces in the intervening night on Thursday and Friday after taking him into detention. Locals identified the young man as Mushtaq Ahmad Mir Son Of Ghulam Rasool Mir, Resident Of Lorgam Tral.
