Thousands of People gather outside the House of Altaf Kaczroo in Kulgam

August 29 Thousands of people including women have gathered outside the house of Altaf Ahmed Dar alias Al Kaczur in hawoora area of Kulgam District on Wednesday as the news of him being killed in the encounter at Muniwar area of Islamabad (Anantnag) has spread in the area. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that men and women in large numbers from nearby areas are marching towards the home of the Hizb Commander shouting pro Freedom and Pro Islam slogans. Altaf Ahmed Dar, an A++ Category is 36 years old and had joined Militant outfit Hizb ul Mujahideen in 2003, he was arrested, but after his release he rejoined the Militant ranks. Restrictions Imposed in Islamabad (Anantnag), Internet, Train Services Suspended

August 29 Stiff restrictions have been imposed in Islamabad township as all the roads leading to the township have been blocked with concertina wires with forces patrolling all the main roads. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that roads have been blocked with barbered wires near Ashajipora, Janglat Mandi, Khanabal and a few other places. Mobile Internet services have also been suspended in the twin districts of South Kashmir, Kulgam and Islamabad (Anantnag) after a massive gunfight raged in Muniwar area of Islamabad (Anantnag). Three Militants are believed to be killed at the gunfight site including a top commander of Militant outfit, Hizb ul Mujahideen. The Authorities have also suspended Train services to South Kashmir from Srinagar

August 29 Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted near gunfight site in Muniwar area of south Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) district where a gunfight between militants and forces is underway. Gunfight is on as two to three Militants are believed to be trapped in the area, official sources told The Kashmiriyat. 2 Militants Killed in Islamabad (Anantnag) Gunfight- Live Updates

August 29 A Massive gunfight has erupted between Militants and Government Forces in Banpora Muniwar area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 1 RR of Indian Army, 96 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a Cordon and Search operation in the area in the wee hours of morning. Massive CASO underway in Pulwama Area

August 28 A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched in the Prichoo area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Tuesday Night. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government Forces including 55 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a joint Anti Militancy operation in the area following specific input about Militant presence in the Prichoo area. Locals said that a heavy contingent of Forces have reached the area and are conducting a search operation in the area. The search operation was going on when this report was filed.

August 28 As highhandedness against the families of militants by government forces continues unabated, the Militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba on Monday challenged the government forces asking them to  fight them instead of their families. “Fight the Mujahideen (militants) not their houses. Refrain from entering houses and resorting to vandalisation. Otherwise, you will have to pay for it. And you wont be able to safeguard your houses,” says the militant belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba in a video message addressed to police personels . Adding that the militants will take further steps only after the policemen act, “We know who are vandalizing our houses and threatening our families. We request them to stop it. 215 People recruited into Jammu Kashmir Police today
