Man Shot at in Tral by Unidentified Gunmen

PULWAMA
August 28 unknown persons on Tuesday fired at a civilian in the Zaatak of Lorgam area of Tral belt in South Kashmir's Pulwama District injuring him. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that gunmen fired upon a man identified as Mohammed Amin Malik of Lorigam in Tral area, injuring him seriously. The Person was rushed to the Sub District Hospital in Tral in an injured condition. Hospital Sources confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that Amin has been shot and is being treated at the hospital. Massive Fire Breaks out in Army Camp in Kupwara

August 28 A Massive fire has engulfed Army camp located in the Machil Sector of North Kashmir's frontier Kupwara District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that fire tenders from various parts of the district have been rushed to the douse off the fire which is still spread inside the Army camp. "Efforts are being made to bring the flames under control," an Army official said. There have been no reports of immediate casualties, neither has the cause of fire been ascertained yet, Three Armymen have sustained minor burn injuries. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that massive blast sound are being heard inside the camp, which is a indication of the fact that explosives have caught fire inside the camp.  

Forces Ransack the House of Islamabad Militant

August 28 The Government Forces on Sunday night allegedly barged into the house of Burhan Ahmed Ganie at S.K Colony in Islamabad (Anantnag) township and ransacked the household items. A family member while speaking to The Kashmiriyat alleged that late night on Sunday, the troops barged into the house of Burhan Ganie, at S.K Colony and searched the house till 2:30 am, only after they broke the household items and ransacked the property. "The father of Burhan was abused verbally, even though he pleaded that he was unwell," the family member said. Downtown Girl becomes Youngest Girl from Kashmir to Fly Aircraft

August 28 Iram Habib (30), a resident of Srinagar's downtown area has become the first and youngest woman from Srinagar to fly an aircraft. Iram pursued her bachelors in forestry from Dehradun and post-graduation in forestry from the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kashmir. Though she studied forestry, she did not let her dream die. While Iram’s family wanted her to pursue PhD in forestry and get a government job, she kept looking for options to train as a pilot. Iram completed her training from Miami in the US in 2016 and returned to India to get a commercial pilot licence. The 30-year-old has two job offers in India at the moment.

Rahul Gandhi on a Two Day Visit to Flood Hit Kerala

August 28 The Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday visited the flood hit Kerala and met the affected people. Rahul who is on a two-day visit to the flood hit Kerala had appealed the Central government to provide help to flood-hit Kerala. On Tuesday, Rahul met flood-affected people at Chengannur and is also scheduled to visit flood-hit regions including Alappuzha and Angamaly later in the day. First Batch of Hajis Reaches back to Kashmir

Militants attack House of NC Leader in Budgam

August 28 Suspected militants fired few shots towards the house of former finance minister and National conference senior leader Abdul Rahim Rather in Badipora village of Budgam district on Monday night. An official said that during intervening night, gunmen fired gunshots towards the residence of NC leader in Badipora village of Budgam. However, no damage was reported in the incident. NC leader was not present inside his house when the incident took place.

Preparing proposal to resolve the issue of Kashmir: Pakistan

August 28 The Pakistan Government is preparing a proposal to resolve the Kashmir issue, The Human Rights Minister of Pakistan's Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari said. The Government, she said, will prepare a proposal on resolving the Kashmir conflict within one week and present it in the cabinet. Khan had also called Kashmir as the core issue of dispute between the two nations and said the only way to resolve Kashmir and other disputes is to sit on a dialogue table.
