Clashes Erupt During CASO in Shopian Area

September 30 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Nolay Poshwara area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. On Sunday morning, the forces including 44 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Bandipora locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. Policeman Killed in Shopian Militant Attack

September 30 A policeman was killed early morning on Sunday when Militants attacked police station Shopian town of South Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown  gunmen opened indiscriminate fire on Police station Shopian resulting in injuries to a cop. A police officer said that militants hurled a grenade followed by firing on the police station. The cop sustained serious injuries in the incident and was taken to nearby hospital where he succumbed. He has been  identified Sakif Mohi Din of Zawoora, his service rifle was also snatches by the militants.

At least Three Injured During Ongoing Clashes in Kulgam Area

September 29 At least three people have sustained injuries during the ongoing clashes that began early morning in the Quimoh belt of South Kashmir's Kulgam District. September 29 The national flag was allegedly displayed upside down during a rally led by senior BJP leader Rajiv Jasrotia in Kathua district, following which an FIR was lodged for insulting the tricolour, police said Saturday.
