Intense Stone Throwing Clashes Erupt near Encounter Site

September 15 Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in Cozgam area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district where a gunfight between militants and forces is underway. Three Militant bodies have been recovered from the gunfight site, official sources told The Kashmiriyat. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that scores of protesters including women assembled and pelted stones on forces who responded to immense tear smoke shelling. Announcements are being made on loudspeakers in the mosques asking others to come out, a local told The Kashmiriyat. People in large numbers from adjacent areas including Sopat are trying marching towards the encounter site.

Kashmir Gunfight- 3 Militants Bodies Recovered, Search Ops Continue

September 15 Three Militants have been killed in the ongoing gunfight at Matipora Czogam area of Qazigund area of South Kashmir's Kulgam early morning on Saturday. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 9RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched a CASO in the area late night on Friday. During the CASO the holed up Militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight after which reinforcements were rushed to the spot. The Militants were holed up inside the residential house of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie near to Government Primary school in Czogam area of South Kashmir.
