Shutdown Continues in North Kashmir Areas Against Militant Killings

September 14 Shabir Khan A complete shutdown is being observed on Friday in many areas of North Kashmir against the killing of Militants in the areas. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Sopore has shut for the second consecutive day against the Militant killings, while a partial shutdown is being observed in Handwara and Langate areas for the fourth consecutive day. Two Local Militants had been killed on Tuesday in a gunfight in Kupwara and on Thursday, two Foreign Militants were killed in a gunfight in Sopore post which authorities suspended internet and closed down the schools. The business establishments in the area also remained shut while train services were also suspended. Massive CASO underway in Shopian Area, Clashes Erupt

September 14 A CASO has been launched in Lone Mohallah, Batpora and Malpora localities of Turkwangam area of South Kashmir's Shopian District on Friday morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 44 RR of Indian Army, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. The Search operations were going on when this report was filed.

8 Militants Killed in the Day

September 13 A Total of eight Militants have been killed in the day in Kashmir in three separate gunfights that raged in Sopore (Baramulla), Keran (Kupwara) and kakriyal (Jammu). Three militants have killed in an ongoing encounter along the Line of Control (LoC) on Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday. Officials said that 3 JAK Rifles at Balbir post near Datgali in Keran intercepted a group of militants at around 10:40 on the Thursday morning, the militant opened fire, triggering a gunfight. September 13 Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today convened a high-level meeting of divisional Sale Rate Fixation Committee to take stock of the preparations for Rabi season. Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture impressed upon the officers that quality seed availability should be ensured in all the districts of the Kashmir Division well in time, so that farmers may not face any hardships. Andrabi directed the officers of different agencies and allied wings to work with close coordination and commitment for the betterment and upliftment of farming community. Hurriyat Calls for a Shutdown against the Killing of Hurriyat Activist

Educational Institutes to Remain closed in Sopore on Friday

September 13 SHABIR KHAN All educational institutions will remain closed in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday after two foreign Militants were killed in a Gunfight in Arampora area of Sopore. Officials said that the administration has ordered the closure of all educational institutions in Sopore and adjacent areas on Friday as a precautionary measure. A gunfight took place between the militants and the forces early morning during a search operation launched by the Government Forces ending with the killing of two Militants.

Hizb Militant arrested in Uttar Pradesh

September 13 The Police in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday claimed to have arrested a Militant affiliated with Militant outfit, Hizbul Mujahideen from Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh. As per Press trust of India, OP Singh, Director General of Police, "A Hizbul Mujahideen militant was arrested in Kanpur." He also claimed that the Hizb militant was planning to carry out attacks on the Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in the North Indian State. His identity could not be confirmed yet.

Hailstorm Causes Heavy Damage to Crops in Budgam

September 13 Rayees Shah Hailstorm on Thursday afternoon caused massive damaged to rice crops, vegetables and fruits in many areas of Central Kashmir's Budgam District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that fields in areas including Beerwah, Kawoosa Khalisa, Chek e Kawoosa, Manzhama, Narbal, Magam suffered heavy damage due to the hailstorm. The hailstorm caused damage apple orchards, maize and rice fields to a great extent.

Government Hospital Supplies Found- Private Dental Clinic Sealed in Islamabad (Anantnag) Town

September 13 The team constituted by the Chief Medical Officer for District Islamabad (Anantnag), Fazil Kochak too oversee malpractices by private clinics today raided a dental clinic in Janglat Mandi area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) township. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the team raided the dental clinic and found the conditions of the clinic unhygienic and there was no facility of sterilization. The team paid surprise visit to the dental clinic in the Janglat Mandi and found most of them in a shabby and unhygienic condition and the tools they were using were not only obsolete but unsterilized.
