Two Affiliates of Zakir Musa Arrested in Ganderbal

September 13 Rayees Shah One local militant affiliated with Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind & an OGW were apprehended by Jammu Kashmir Police in Central Kashmir's ganderbal District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the Militant identified as Rouf was involved in weapon snatching case at Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar. Rouf, as per initial reports had joined Militancy five months ago. He has been taken into detention and booked under relevant sections of Law.

PM House in Pakistan Will be Converted into Postgraduate Institute

Addressing the media in Islamabad on Thursday, the education minister said the public was fed up of the previous governments’ “royal” ways of living. It is important that government officials live in a way that does not waste public money, he said. "Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided that he will not stay in the PM House and governors will not stay in Governor House so that the money can be used for public welfare," he added. MeT Predicts Rainfall in Jammu Kashmir on Saturday, Sunday

September 13 After a brief dry spell, the weather department has predicted intermittent rain for two days in Kashmir Valley. A MeT official said that there are chances of rain on Sep 15 and 16 across Kashmir Valley. “Higher reaches and plains can receive moderate to heavy rainfall on Saturday and Sunday,” he said adding that weather will be clear from Monday. The official added that from Sep 15 there will be a dip in temperature as well.

Pakistan Arrests 18 Indian Fisherman

September 13 Pakistan authorities have arrested 18 Indian fishermen for allegedly fishing in the country’s territorial waters, an official said. The latest batch of Indian fishermen was arrested on Tuesday by the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) and they will be produced before a judicial magistrate on Thursday by the Docks police, the official said. Two fishing boats of the Indian fishermen were also seized. They will now join hundreds of other Indian fishermen lodged in jails in Karachi before they are released either on completion of sentences or through any goodwill gesture announced by the Pakistan government. September 13 The Government Forces on Thursday jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Kangan area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday, the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, and SOG of Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Kangan area. 2 Dead Bodies Recovered from Sopore Encounter Site- Police

September 13 SHABIR KHAN Two Unidentified dead bodies have been recovered at the gunfight site in Teleyan locality of Arampora in Sopore region of North Kashmir's Baramulla District, a Police official told The Kashmiriyat. He said that the forces had conducted search operations in the area during which Militants opened fire on the forces, triggering a gunfight. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that after a gunfight of nearly five hours, the forces managed to kill two Militants holed up in a residential house. During the search operation, two bodies have been recovered and as per initial reports, one of them has been identified as Usman, a foreign Militant, however officials are yet to confirm anything. The identity of the Militants is being ascertained, an official said.

September 13 More than half a million children under the age of five could die of starvation in conflict zones this year, Save the Children International warned. “4,500,000 children under the age of five will need treatment for life-threatening malnutrition this year in the most dangerous conflict zones for children,” the international organisation said. “At the current rates, two in three of these severely malnourished children are set to miss out on vital treatment this year, with 590,000 expected to die as a result,” the organisation added. Delhi Court Grants Bail to Kashmiri Businessman in Hawala Case

September 13 Delhi High court bench of Justice S Muralidhar & Vinod Goel on Wednesday granted bail to Zahoor Ahmad Shah (Watali) and directed him to furnish a personal bail bond of Rs 2 lakh rupees with two surety of same amount & submit his passport. Zahoor had  been arrested by NIA last year in August and was lodged in Tihar jail since his arrest. Earlier Photojournalist Kamran Yousuf and a Kulgam youth Javed Ahmad Bhat who were also arrested by the NIA were granted bail by the court earlier this year. Others still under detention after being arrested by NIA include Shabir Shah and Nayeem Khan.
