Shakeel Bakshi arrested in Srinagar

September 13 Prominent Pro Freedom leader and the founder of Islamic Students League, Shakeel Ahmed Bakshi has been taken into detention by Forces in Srinagar. Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that Police raided the house of Bakshi on Tuesday in Bemina and arrested him post which he was lodged at police station in Batamaloo. Shakeel Bakshi was first arrested in 1975 when he participated in a General Strike for 'political rights' in Kashmir. Bakshi who has spent more than 11 years in various jails was also arrested the last year after Zakir Musa issued a statement against Hurriyat leaders. September 13 Shabir Khan Two Militants have been killed during a gunfight at Teleyan in Sopore area of  North Kashmir's Baramulla District on Thursday. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the 22 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 179 BN CRPF had laid down the Search operation jointly. The Militants present in the area opened fire upon the troopers conducting a search operation in the area, triggering a gunfight. September 13 A 12-year-old boy was lynched to death by five boys in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district for bursting a balloon decorated at a temple on the occasion of Janmashtami. An eyewitness of the incident, said the boys mercilessly thrashed the 12-year-old in Nadroi village when a balloon he had touched burst, the Times of India reported. He said he rushed to inform his friend’s mother about the incident, who ran to the temple to find her son lying on the ground in a pool of blood. September 13 Fuel prices once again witnessed a hike on Thursday, with petrol being sold at Rs 81.00 per litre and diesel at Rs 73.08 per litre here in the national capital. The price of petrol has been increased by 13 paise per litre, while diesel saw a hike of 11 paise per litre, as compared to Tuesday’s prices in New Delhi. In Mumbai, petrol and diesel have touched a new high of Rs 88.39 and Rs 77.58 per litre respectively. On Wednesday, fuel prices remained steady after breaching record levels continuously for over a week. Stone Throwing in Dialgam, Locals accuse Forces of Vandalization

September 12 Intense Stone throwing clashes erupted in Her Dialgam area of Islamabad District on Wednesday evening. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that youth hurled stones on the vehicles of 19RR and CRPF in the area. The troops fired tear smoke shells in return to disperse the protesters. The locals accused the forces of Vandalization and said that forces barged into the houses and vandalized property worth lakhs. "They went inside the houses and broke the window panes of many houses, which was grossly uncalled for," a local told The Kashmiriyat.

September 12 A Man named Sabzar Ahmed was arrested after Police found him sexually assaulting a girl inside his shop in Bongam area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Wednesday.
