Militants Offer Gun Salute to Slain Colleague in Sopore

September 13 Militants on Wednesday night appeared in Harwan Sopore, the native village of Liyakat Ahmed Lone and fired shots in the air to offer gun salute to their slain collegue. September 13 A massive exchange of gunfire is on at Teleyan in Sopore area of  North Kashmir's Baramulla District on Thursday. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the 22 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and 179 BN CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. The Militants present in the area opened fire upon the troopers conducting a search operation in the area, triggering a gunfight. As per the initial reports, two to three Militants including are exchanging Gunfire with the Government Forces. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that massive gunfire is on. Stone Throwing in Dialgam, Locals accuse Forces of Vandalization

September 12 Intense Stone throwing clashes erupted in Her Dialgam area of Islamabad District on Wednesday evening. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that youth hurled stones on the vehicles of 19RR and CRPF in the area. The troops fired tear smoke shells in return to disperse the protesters. The locals accused the forces of Vandalization and said that forces barged into the houses and vandalized property worth lakhs. "They went inside the houses and broke the window panes of many houses, which was grossly uncalled for," a local told The Kashmiriyat.

CASO launched in Kamad Area of Islamabad

September 12 The Government Forces on Tuesday jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Kamad area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday morning, the forces including 1 RR of Indian Army, and SOG of Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Kamad area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Islamabad (Anantnag) locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. September 12 A Man named Sabzar Ahmed was arrested after Police found him sexually assaulting a girl inside his shop in Bongam area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the a local reported to the Kulgam Police station that a girl was being sexually assaulted inside a tailor shop, the police took swift action and raided the spot. September 12 A Rehbar e Taleem teacher was placed under suspension after he allegedly tried to molest a Girl student in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that, ReT teacher Hilal Ahmad allegedly tried to molest a Girl Student of upper Primary class in Lilam area of Kupwara. The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara confirmed that the teacher has been placed under suspension vide order number 1045-49.

North Kashmir areas Shut for the Second Day against Militant Killings

September 12 A Shutdown is being observed on Wednesday in Langate, Zaengeer, and Handwara area of North Kashmir over killing of two local militants yesterday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Business establishment’s are shut and traffic is off the roads. The mobile internet service and class work in Government Degree College (GDC) and Higher Secondary Schools (HSSs) remained suspended for the second day as a precautionary measure in Handwara in Kupwara. The administration has also ordered suspension of class work in GDC Handwara and all Higher Secondary Schools of Mawar and Langate zones as a precautionary measure.

September 12 A CRPF man was injured after suspected militants travelling on a truck opened fire on a CRPF naka party in Jajjar Kotli area along the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Wednesday. Soon after the incident, government forces launched a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) in the area. A source said that at unknown persons opened fire at the CRPF party deployed for naka duty on the highway around 8:10 am, leaving a CRPF man injured.
