2 Alleged Pulwama Militants Arrested in Jammu

November 14 The Government Forces on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two Pulwama militants from in Sarknkote area in Poonch district of Jammu region. Detailing the incident, the Police said that, During a checking the Government Forces intercepted a four wheeler which was coming from Mendhar and going to Sarknkote. The Vehicle was intercepted near the Jaranwali Gali in Surankote and two people including the driver of the vehicle were arrested. After sustained interrogation they said turned out to be militants identified as Shabir Ahmed son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din of Kakapora Pulwama and Mohammad Aqib, also a resident of Kakapora Pulwama, Police said adding that two AK 56 rifle and two magazine were recovered from both,  Police said. Forces Launch CASO in Pulwama Area

November 14 The Government Forces on Wednesday evening launched a cordon and search operation in Tangpuna area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday, the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Pulwama locality and are conducting a search operation in the areas. Books Stalls Charging ‘Unfair’ Costs Sealed in Islamabad (Anantnag) township

November 14 The parents of several private school going kids have been constantly complaining of unfair charges being charged by book sellers in the Islamabad (Anantnag) township of South Kashmir. "They are illegally charging a lot of money and burdening the parents of the students of Private schools. The fees at private schools is high and is increasing every six months," a parent told The Kashmiriyat. The Kashmiriyat in this regard contacted the Joint Director of Education Nasir Ahmed who said that the issue needs to be appraised with the Legal meteorological Department (LMD). Power Crisis Continue in Sopore, Residents, Traders protests

November 14 Shabir Khan The Residents of Iqbal Market area of Sopore in North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against power crisis in the area. Sources told The Kashmiriyat said scores of people including local traders assembled at Iqbal Market of town and staged a protest demonstration over prevailing power crisis. They raised slogans against the Power Development department and said that department had failed to restore electricity in parts of Sopore post snow which plains received the last month. Meanwhile the protesters threatened to prolong the protests if the electricity is not restored in the area at earliest.

Taliban Kill 12 Afghan Forces

November 14 The Taliban have killed 12 Afghan security forces which includes nine soldiers after they opened fire on them in the Maidan Wardak province near Kabul, Afghan officials said Hekmat Durani, spokesman for the provincial police chief, says the nine were killed in the Sayed Abad district, and that another three soldiers were wounded. He says five insurgents were killed in the exchange late Tuesday. Jawad Hajri, spokesman for the governor of the northeastern Takhar province, says the Taliban attacked police there, killing three and wounding another three. The Taliban, who in recent years have taken over nearly half the country, claimed responsibility for both the attacks.

Masrat Alam Booked Under 37th PSA

November 14 The incarcerated Hurriyat Leader Masarat Alam Bhat was on Wednesday shifted to Hira Nagar jail Jammu after authorities booked him under the fresh Public Safety Act (PSA). The fresh orders, incidentally 37th in the series, were passed Wednesday morning by the Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, a spokesperson of his party Muslim League said. After being slapped with 37th PSA, which is a world record, Masarat Alam was shifted to Hira Nagar Jail in Jammu, Ayoubi said. Masarat Alam, who spearheaded the 2010 agitation, was arrested in October same year, he was released in 2015, however rearrested shortly.

JRL Calls For Complete Shutdown on November 17

November 14 The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a complete shutdown across Kashmir on November 17 against the panchayat polls. The JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik urged people to observe shutdown against the Polls being conducted on the 17 November. The leadership asked the people to reject and boycott the Panchayat polls in the same way they rejected the Urban Local Bodies polls by staying indoors.

Bandipora-Gurez Road Closed for traffic after snowfall at Razdan Pass

November 14 Shabir Khan Authorities on Tuesday suspended traffic movement on Bandipora-Gurez road following fresh snowfall at Razdan Pass. The traffic movement was suspended as a ‘precautionary measure’ as there was moderate snowfall going on at Razdan Pass since Tuesday morning. Due to the moderate snowfall the Bandipora-Gurez has become slippery and to avoid any untoward incident, all sorts of vehicular movement on the road has been suspended, It was also snowing in Dawar, Kanzalwan, Bagtore and Tulail areas of Bandipora since today morning.
