Nocturnal CASO Launched in Shopian Area

The Government on Thursday launched a cordon and search operation in Aglar area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday, the forces including 44 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Shopian locality and are conducting a search operation in the areas. Brother of Five Sisters Arrested in Kulgam

Pharma Student, Mudasir Ahmed Itoo son of Ghulam Qadir Itoo who was pursuing B.Phama from a college in Delhi was picked up by Government forces during an nocturnal raid on 8 November. The 18 year old who had come home during  his holidays from the Delhi college was arrested when Government forces raided his house in the Qaimoh locality of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. Islamabad (Anantnag) resident Arrested with Charas in Mumbai

November 15 The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra police has allegedly seized around 2 kg of charas from a resident of Jammu Kashmir in neighbouring Thane district, a senior official said Wednesday ATS sleuths had received information that the accused was coming to Thane on Monday to sell hashish, commonly known as charas, the official said. He was nabbed on Monday and 1.8 kg of the contraband and a motorcycle were seized from him, the ATS official said. The accused hails from Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir, he said. Police registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act against him. The accused was procured before a court Tuesday and remanded in police custody for ten days. November 15 The weather is likely to improve in Jammu Kashmir from today after a fresh snowfall in the higher reaches in the last 24 hours. The officials of MeT said that they are expecting weather to remain dry till November 21. Power Crisis Increases with Durbar Move in Kashmir

November 15 The Kashmir valley is facing power crisis from up north to down south as winter chill continues to grow in intensity and people are up in arms against the Government. Locals from several areas of North Kashmir including Lolab, Sopore, Ganderbal, Bandipora have held protests against the Government's Power Development Department as power crisis have grown in the areas. 2 Alleged Pulwama Militants Arrested in Jammu

November 14 The Government Forces on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two Pulwama militants from in Sarknkote area in Poonch district of Jammu region. Detailing the incident, the Police said that, During a checking the Government Forces intercepted a four wheeler which was coming from Mendhar and going to Sarknkote. The Vehicle was intercepted near the Jaranwali Gali in Surankote and two people including the driver of the vehicle were arrested. November 14 The parents of several private school going kids have been constantly complaining of unfair charges being charged by book sellers in the Islamabad (Anantnag) township of South Kashmir. "They are illegally charging a lot of money and burdening the parents of the students of Private schools. The fees at private schools is high and is increasing every six months," a parent told The Kashmiriyat. Power Crisis Continue in Sopore, Residents, Traders protests

November 14 Shabir Khan The Residents of Iqbal Market area of Sopore in North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against power crisis in the area. Sources told The Kashmiriyat said scores of people including local traders assembled at Iqbal Market of town and staged a protest demonstration over prevailing power crisis. They raised slogans against the Power Development department and said that department had failed to restore electricity in parts of Sopore post snow which plains received the last month. Meanwhile the protesters threatened to prolong the protests if the electricity is not restored in the area at earliest.
