Despite Growing Anti Militancy Operations, Another Local Youth Joins Militancy

November 11 Despite growing encounters and repeated verbal attempts of the Army and Director General of Jammu Kashmir  Police, Militancy is showing no signs of declination. In fact the Army General of India has been constantly asking the local Kashmiri youth to give up arms and asking people to keep their wards away from militancy. Though Militancy is growing swiftly as more local youth are picking up arms to strengthen the Militant ranks, Figures available to The Kashmiriyat suggest that at least 150 Local youth have picked up arms this year. One Militant Killed in Handwara Shootout

November 11 One Militant has been killed in a shootout  in an open field in Handwara near by Pass road after militants opened fire on a patrol party on Sunday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Militants hurled a grenade on a party of Government Forces which was retaliated by Forces with firing resulting into the death of a Militant. The exchange of fire continued for some time and in brief exchange of gunfire one Militant has been killed and arms and ammunition have been recovered from his possession. However the identification of Militant is yet to be ascertained. Police said that reinforcements have been rushed to the spot.

MET Department Predicts Snowfall, Rain for the Next three Days

November 11 The state’s meteorological department has predicted light to moderate  rain and snowfall for the next three days across Kashmir. However, the minimum temperatures in the state have increased and there are chances of rain, snow in Kashmir from November 12, to 14, the MeT department said. Earlier on November 3, the state witnessed heavy snowfall. Meanwhile, the night temperature in Srinagar was recorded 3.2  degrees Celsius, Pahalgam recorded 0.7 and Gulmarg minus 3.5 degrees. Leh town recorded minus 1.3 and Kargil 6.6 as the night’s lowest. In the Jammu region, Katra recorded 12.4 degrees Celsius, Batote 7.6, Bannihal 4.6 and Bhaderwah 4.3.

At least 61 people killed in Yemen Clashes

November 11 At least 61 combatants have been killed in clashes in Yemen’s flashpoint Hodeida, medics and a military source said on Sunday, and dozens of wounded taken to hospitals outside the city. Medics in the Red Sea city reported 43 Houthi rebels and nine loyalists killed in clashes over the past 24 hours. Another nine loyalist fighters were reported killed by medics at a hospital in government-held Mokha, south of Hodeida. A government military source confirmed the toll. Dozens of wounded rebels were transferred to hospitals in the provinces of Sanaa and Ibb, further inland, a source at the Hodeida military hospital said. Massive Clashes Erupt As Forces Launch CASO in Pulwama Area

November 11 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Sheikhpora Murran area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District. On Sunday afternoon, the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Murran area. November 11 An unknown dead body was found in the Sanatbugh area of Pulwama in 1998 when some locals passed by and found the dead body was of a famous commander from the nearby Bellow village. November 11 Sheikh Nadeem/ Waris Shah The dead body of a 30 year old man was found lying at his home under mysterious circumstances at Deesu Locality of Dakusm in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the dead body of Bilal Ahmed Mir son of Abdul Gani Mir was found lying inside his house at Daksum area of South Kashmir on Sunday Morning. "The dead body of Bilal was found lying inside his house, we are still investigating the matter," A Police official told The Kashmiriyat. Walnut trees in school premises posing threat to school students in Tral Village.

November 11 Nawaz Gull The presence of walnut trees in the school compound has been posing a threat to students of Government middle school at Dar Ganie Gund Village of Aripal Tehsil of Tral Sub-district in South Kashmir Pulwama. November 10 The Residents of Shopian Areas in south Kashmir’s Shopian district are facing with water shortage as the water pump sheds in the area have been non-functional from past many days, Locals told The Kashmiriyat.
