CASO Launched in Tral Area

November 10 The Government Forces on Saturday afternoon launched a cordon and search operation in Khangund area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday noon, the forces including 42 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Tral locality and are conducting a search operation in the areas. Protest in Central University of Kashmir Against the Detention of Students

November 10 The students of Central University of Kashmir (CUK) staged a protest demonstrations against the arrest of two post-graduate students in Nowgam campus on Satuday. Students told The Kashmiriyat that Scores of students of CUK Nowgam assembled in the campus on Saturday demanding the release of two political science students Suhail Ahmad and Mohammad Ismail. They said that the duo were arrested by government forces during a nocturnal raid on Friday from their rented accommodation in Nowgam locality of Srinagar. Both the students hail from Shopian district of south Kashmir.

SGR-LEH Reopens for One-Way Traffic After 8 Day Closure

November 09 The 434 km Strategic Srinagar Leh highway connecting Ladakh region was on Friday reopens for traffic after remaining closed for 9 consecutive days due to heavy snowfall. The highway was closed last week for vehicular traffic after the high altitude areas of Kashmir, including Sonamarg,Zojila Pass,Meenmarg,Zero Point and other part’s of the Road received heavy snowfall.
