November 07 Many areas in south Kashmir are reeling under darkness due to the power breakdown caused by the heavy snowfall last week. Residents from South Kashmir areas told The Kashmiriyat that the authorities have failed to restore electricity in dozens of villages. PDD Employee Electrocuted in Pulwama

November 07 A causaul employee of Power Developement Department was electrocuted on Tuesday evening in Bandzoo area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Shabir Ahmad Sofi, a resident of washbugh Pulwama, was electrocuted while restoring power supply line at Bandzoo after the recent snowfall in the Kashmir valley. They said that he was repairing a wire on an electric pole when accidentally he came in contact with a live wire, He received a shock as result of which he fell down. At least Five Youth Arrested During Night Raids in Dialgam

November  07 The Government forces raided the Dialgam Locality in Islamabad (Anantnag) District of South Kashmir and arrested five youths during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that at least five youths have been arrested in the Her Dialgam locality when forces raided the Village around 1130 in the night. They were detained in  Dialgam when the Forces including Jammu Kashmir Police barged inside the houses of the youth and took them into detention. Two More Kashmiri Students Arrested in Punjab

November 06 Two Kashmiri college students have been arrested in connection with the Maqsudan police station hand grenade blast case, reports said. Shahid Qayoom (22) and Fazil Bashir (23), students of an engineering college in Jalandhar, have been arrested, they said. DGP Suresh Arora said in a press release that four persons were involved in carrying out the hand grenade blasts inside the Maqsudan police station in Jalandhar on September 14. Apart from Shahid and Fazil, Mir Ravoof Ahmed alias Rouf and Mir Umar Ramzan alias Gazi were also involved in the act. Rouf and Gazi are absconding, the officer said.
