Braving Rain and Tear Smoke Shelling, Thousands Attend Militant Funeral in Sopore

November 02 Shabir Khan Intense Clashes broke out Friday in Sopore Township after the funeral of a militant killed in a brief exchange of fire with government forces late night on Thursday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government forces deployed in the area fired tear smoke shells and pellets at the funeral procession of the slain Militant Naseer Ahmed Teeli in Sopore's Arampora. The youth retaliated  by hurling stones at the government forces. After a brief disruption, funeral prayers of Teli were offered at the Chinkipora Park, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers despite heavy rains. Clashes Erupt as Forces Launch CASO in Pulwama Area

November 02 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Wegergund area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. On Friday morning, the forces including  55 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Wegergund area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Pulwama locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. One Militant Killed In Handwara Shootout

September  01 One Militants has been killed in brief exchange of gunfire between militants and Government Forces at Yunoo area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday night. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that patrolling party of Army’s 22 RR was fired upon by the militants in the area. The fire was retaliated by the forces resulting in a brief exchange of gunshots which continued for some time. In this brief exchange of gunfire one Militant of Tehreek ul Majadin militant outfit was killed. A search operation has been launched as more militants are expected to be holed up in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

November 01 The Tral area has shut down for the third consecutive day to mourn the killings of two Militants in the Chantikar area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. November 01 The killing of two unidentified militants by Government forces on Thursday has led to violent protests in Arizal area of central Kashmir's Budgam district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that youth in large numbers hit the streets in Harde Panzu and Arizal areas of Budgam as the news of the Militant killings spread in the area . Shouting pro independence and Pro Militancy slogans, youth hurled stones at the government forces who fired tear smoke shells and aerial shots to disperse the protesters.
