Snow Expected in the First Week of January, Kashmir Continues to Freeze under Immense Cold

Cold wave gripped Kashmir Valley including Ladakh region again on Monday after a days respite with weather officials predicting snowfall in the first week of January.
The minimum temperature plummeted several notches below the freezing point in Kashmir’s capital city Srinagar to minus 6.6 while it was minus 2.2 on Sunday.
An official of the Met department said the minimum temperature was minus 5.5 degree Celsius in Pahalgam, and minus 5 degree Celsius in Gulmarg.
Leh recorded minus 14 degree Celsius as the minimum temperature, and in Kargil, it was minus 17.2 degree Celsius.
