Srinagar Encounter- Clashes Erupt in Nowhatta

December 08 Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in Nowhatta area of Srinagar after the news of encounter  reached the area. An encounter has raged between militants and Government forces erupted at Mujgund area of Srinagar outskirts on Saturday evening. National Lok Adalat Held in Islamabad (Anantnag)- 66 Cases Settled

December 08 National Lok Adalat was organised by the District Legal Services Authority in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) today, at District Court Complex. Six Benches were constituted for holding of the said National Lok Adalat, all over the district, under the supervision of Principal District & Sessions Judge and Chairman DLSA Anantnag Syed Tawqeer Ahmad along with Munsif Judge Moha,mad Altaf Khan and Sub Judge Rafia Hassan Khaki who are also the members of District Legal Services Authority Anantnag (DLSA). Out of 157 cases, related to recovery suits, MACT, Electricity cases, Civil and Matrimonial cases, taken up in the said National Lok Adalat, a total settlement amount of Rs. 9919966 was awarded in favour of 66 settled cases. Clashes Erupt near Encounter Site in Srinagar

December 08 Clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in Mujgund area of Central  Kashmir’s Srinagar district where a gunfight between militants and forces is underway. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that scores of protesters assembled and pelted stones on forces who responded by tear smoke shelling. Announcements are being made on loudspeakers in the mosques asking others to come out, a local told The Kashmiriyat. Encounter Starts in Srinagar

December 08 An encounter has raged between militants and Goverment forces erupted at Mujgund area of Srinagar outskirts on Saturday evening. Sources told The Kashmiriyat  that a joint team of SOG, Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation at Mujgund area on Saturday evening after receiving inputs about presence of some militants in the area. The Forces while conducting the search operation were fire upon by forces, which resulted in an encounter. Hurriyat Calls for Shutdown on Monday

December 08 The Hurriyat leadership has called for a shutdown on Monday on World Human Rights day on December 10. The Hurriyat said that the shutdown will be observed against atrocities, including gruesome killings, arbitrary arrests, destruction of homes and harassment of students and attack on journalists by the government forces. In a statement issued here this afternoon, JRL said that the state “repression” against people was increasing with each passing day as it gets manifest in different forms of “atrocities being committed”.

Intense Clashes Erupt During CASO in Kulgam Area

December 08 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Lone Mohallah area of Buga in South Kashmir's Kulgam District. On the afternoon of Saturday, the forces including  RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Lone Mohallah area. 12th Class Student Dies in Road Accident at Awantipora

December 08 One Youth was killed after he was hit by a speedy tractor in Awantipora area of Pulwama district on Saturday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Raouf Ahmad Wani Son of Nazir Ahmad wani was has hit by unknown tractor at Irrigation Canal Awantipora resulting in his on spot death. The deceased was a resident of Pinglena Trich Pulwama aged 20 years and was a student of 12th class. The Dead body has been shifted to SDH Pampora for postmortem. Police has Registered a case in this Regard and started further Investigation.

Massive Door to Door Search Operation Launched in Pulwama Area

December 06 The Government Forces on Thursday evening launched a cordon and search operation in Kumar Mohallah of Aglar Kandi area of in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday , the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area. A heavy contingent of forces reached this Pulwama locality and are conducting a search operation in the area, Locals told The Kashmiriyat. Stray dogs Attack, injure two women in Kangan

December 06 Rayees Shah A health official said the stray dogs roaming in the area attacked and injured two women in Branpathri Thune locality in Kangan. Two women were bitten by stray dogs in Thune village of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday. A health official said the stray dogs roaming in the. area attacked and injured two women in Branpathri Thune locality in Kangan. The injured were identified as Hajira Begum, 60, and Maryam Begum, 54, both the residents of Branpathri Thune. The duo was rushed to sub district hospital Kangan for immediate treatment, he said.
