CASO Launched by Forces in Kulgam Locality

December 06 The Government Forces on Thursday evening launched a cordon and search operation in Kokergund area of Yaripora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday , the forces including RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area. A heavy contingent of forces reached this Yaripora locality and are conducting a search operation in the area, Locals told The Kashmiriyat. Army Man Killed in Pakistani Firing on LOC

December 06 A Solider of Indian Army was killed in Pakistani firing on Indian Side along the Machil Sector of North Kashmir's Kupwara District on Thursday. The Indian Army claimed that Pakistan violated the ceasefire by opening fire on Indian troops along the Line of control that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan, resulting in the death of one Indian Soldier. “Pakistan violated the ceasefire at around 10:45 am today,” he said, adding that the Indian troops retaliated strongly to the violations.

Shops Gutted in Fire Mishap at Tral and Sopore

December 06 Shabir Khan A confectionery shop was gutted in an overnight fire incident at Khankah Mohallah in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat said that  the shop owned by Fayaz Ahmad was gutted completely in a fire mishap which broke out around 1 AM. The Locals tried their best to douse off the fire, however to no success as fire tenders reached late to the spot. Meanwhile the readymade shop of Tariq Ahmad Sheikh, during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday in Tral town of South Kashmir.

December 06 The civilian killings in Kashmir Valley in the past four years has increased manifold, as per stats. In contrast to 41 civilian killings in 2015, at least 126 civilians lost their lives in first eleven months of current year-2018. December 06 Firozabad and Bathinda regions were put on high alert on Thursday morning after Kashmiri Militant commander Zakir Musa was spotted in Punjab, nearly three weeks after the Amritsar grenade attack. December 05 At least 250 Militants are still active in Jammu Kashmir even as Government forces killed around 230 of them during Anti-militancy operations in the Kashmir valley this year. Director General of police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh told the TOI that though the militant recruitment had declined considerably in the last two months, there were still 250 active terrorists in the region. Three Students Including Cousin of Zakir Musa Produced in Court

December 05 The National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India produced three suspects of Ansar Ghazwatul Hind including cousin of top Militant commander Zakir Musa in a special court on Tuesday amid high security. Yousuf Rafiq Bhat, is a cousin of Kashmir-based militant leader Zakir Musa who is wanted by the forces in the state. The court ordered the accused, including Zahid Gulzar, a resident of Awantipora, and Mohammad Edrish Shah, to remain in judicial custody, the report said. Next hearing is on December 21. Punjab police arrested them from an institute with arms and ammunition. The case was later transferred to the NIA.
