Khardung La Avalanche- Five Dead Bodies Recovered

January 18 Five dead bodies have been recovered while efforts are on to trace the remaining five after ten people came under a snow avalanche at Khardung La pass in Jammu Kashmir’s Ladakh Friday morning. Disaster management department official, Aamir Ali said that five dead bodies have been recovered from the avalanche site while search operation is on to trace the remaining remaining five. January 17 A total of 1,428 people died due to extreme weather events in 2018 with heavy rains and subsequent flooding, dust storms, thunderstorms and lightening claiming half the lives, a top government official said Wednesday.
