Woman slips from bus, gets crushed to Death

January 31 A woman was killed after she slipped from the bus she was travelling in and got crushed under a moving bus at Dalian village area of Nowshera in Rajouri district of Jammu Kashmir. Reports revealed that the Lady identified as Pholan Begum slipped from a bus on Thursday noon. Pholan was crushed under the bus after getting down from it, they said. She was shifted quickly to medical facility in critical conditions but succumbed to injuries

3 Men, 2 Women, 1 CRPF trooper Injured Grenade Attack in Sherbagh of Islamabad (Anantnag)

January 31 Six people were injured when Unknown persons hurled a grenade on a Police post near Sherbagh area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday noon unknown persons hurled a grenade on Police post in Sherbagh, however the grenade exploded near the gate of the post. The explosion caused injuries to at least six people who are being treated at the nearby hospital, Hospital officials told The Kashmiriyat. A Police official confirming the attack said, "Six people including two women, three men and one CRPF trooper have been injured in an explosion near Sherbagh of Islamabad (Anantnag) township.

Pakistan rejects Indian objections to Foreign Minister’s telephone call to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday, the 44 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a search operation in Awaneera Area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Fresh Snowfall- Highway Blocked, Air Traffic Likely to Effect Air Traffic in Kashmir Valley

Hindu Woman Appointed a Civil Judge in Pakistan

January 29 Suman Kumari has become Pakistan’s first Hindu woman to have been appointed a civil judge after passing an examination for induction of judicial officers. Kumari, who hails from Qambar-Shahdadkot, will serve in her native district, Dawn reported. Suman Kumari passed her LL.B. examination from Hyderabad and did her masters in law from Karachi’s Szabist University. She then worked for Advocate Rasheed A. Razvi’s firm.
