107 Structures Damaged During 108 Encounters in 2018- Full Report

January 06 The year 2018 has been one of the bloodiest year since a decade as at least 470 people were kiled during the year. A total of 245 Militants, 150 civilians and 84 Government Force personnel were killed during the year, as per figures available to The Kashmiriyat. A total of at least 107 structures have received partial or been completely destroyed during 108 encounters that raged between Government Forces and Militants in the Kashmir valley during the last year. A total of 69, 969 students had appeared in the exams, As per initial figures, the top positions have been secured by Government Schools. 8, 879 students have secured Distinctions while 14, 432 have passed with First division and 10, 825 have passed with Second division. Minor Girl Killed During Stone Throwing Clashes in UP

January 07 A minor girl was killed in a clash between two groups at Nawala village in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh Reports said that the clashes took place on Sunday evening over a minor dispute between the two groups and soon led to stone pelting in which a 20 day old girl got injured and died. A case was registered against two people in the local Police Station.

Australian Beaches Shut After 13,000 People stung by Jellyfish

January 07 Thousands of people have been stung by vast numbers of bluebottle jellyfish that have swarmed the beaches in Australia's Queensland state, officials said on Monday. At least, 2,600 people received treatment at the weekend. Bluebottle stings are painful but typically not life-threatening, reports the BBC. Unusually strong winds pushed the jellyfish colonies close to shore. About 13,000 stings were recorded in the past week - three times more than in the corresponding period last year. Will not Change the Name of Aligarh Muslim University- Supreme Court

January 07 The Supreme Court of India on Monday dismissed a PIL seeking to change the name of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). "You want us to do that," asked Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi while dismissing the plea. Spread over 467.6 hectares, the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a central university. AMU was established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875. In the year 1920, it was renamed as Aligarh Muslim University. AMU offers more than 300 courses in the traditional and modern branches of education, It draws students from all across India and also overseas.

Couple arrested in Qazigund with 10 Kilo Drugs

January 07 Murtaza Gull The Jammu Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a cople in Qazigund for peddling drugs. They said that a couple was arrested during a patrolling at Mirbazar area and recovered contraband substance from their possession. The accused has been identified as Sabzar Ahmad Rather @Raja, a resident of Mallipora Devsar in Kulgam District, the Police said, adding that 10 kilograms of poppy straw has been from their possession. The Police has registered a case under FIR NO 02/2019 and initiated investigations in the matter.
