January 07 The Failure to contain infiltration from across the Line of Control and putting a control on the recruitment of local youths into Militant outfits remain a constant source of worry for Indian Security agencies in Jammu Kashmir, officials said. In a report published on Economic times, the security agencies while analysing the trends of 2018 noted that infiltration figures continue to remain unchanged as around 140 Militants successfully sneaked into the Kashmir Valley. January 07 Rayees Shah In a tragic road accident a Municipal Council employee died after hit by speedy vehicle in Central Kashmir Ganderbal on early Monday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Fayaz Ahmed, an employee of Muncipal Council was hit and injured critically by unknown vehicle at Main market Beehama in Ganderbal. CASO Launched in Sopore Area

January 06 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla District. On the Sunday evening, the forces including 22 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Lone Mohalla area of Zaloora in Sopore. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Zaloora locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. Wild Bear Rescued from Lakipora in Islamabad (anantnag)

January 06 Sheikh Nadeem Officials of Wild Life department on Sunday rescued a wild bear who was stuck in a net in the night hours at Bamdoora Larkipora area of south Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that shops, business establishments are shut in the area, while roads are wearing a deserted look for the fourth consecutive day against the killing of three Militants on Thursday. People in large numbers are visiting the families of slain youth in Laribal area of Tral and Chursoo area of South Kashmir. Pertinently three Militants Shakoor of Laribal Tral, Tawseef Ahmed Thokar and Zubair Ahmed from Chursoo Awantipora were killed in an encounter in Gulshanpora area of Tral on Thursday.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat a resident of Ustadpora in Sugan said that the transformer in the area has gone defunct and the Power development department despite several requests to repair the transformer has not reached the village. "Kerosene lamps and gas lights are what these people use to illuminate our homes as authorities are unmoved towards our long pending basic demand," a local told The Kashmiriyat.
