Traffic Will be Allowed Only from Srinagar to Jammu, Today

February 19 Authorities on Tuesday said that one-way traffic will be allowed on the Kashmir Highway with vehicles moving only from Srinagar to Jammu. An official said that the highway is open for one-way traffic from Srinagar to Jammu today. He said that the highway has been cleared of all stranded vehicles on Monday. The restoration of highway partially after remaining shut for seven consecutive days has relieved people since the supply of essentials was also restored.

Jammu Under Curfew for Fifth Consecutive Day

February 19 Curfew continued on Tuesday for the fifth consecutive day in Jammu with authorities likely to take a decision on its relaxation later. “The curfew that was imposed on February 15 in Jammu city will continue today,” an official said. He said that a decision on its relaxation will be taken later in the day. DIG South Kashmir hit with a Bullet during Pulwama Encounter

February 18 Deputy Inspector General of police south Kashmir range, Amit Kumar sustained a bullet injury in his leg during an ongoing encounter between militants and forces at Pinglan village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama. “Yes DIG South Kashmir received a bullet injury in his leg but he is stable,” the officer said. The family of the girl identified as Sameera Akhtar, told The Kashmiriyat over phone that Sameera had went to the nearby shop to purchase detergent powder.
