BJP Demands Land on Aligarh Muslim University Campus to Construct Land

February 08 The BJP’s youth wing has demanded land to construct a temple on the AMU campus, saying Hindu students were facing problems in performing prayers. In a letter to AMU Vice Chancellor Tariq Mansoor, Mukesh Singh Lodhi, the district president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), said if the university doesn’t fulfil their demand within 15 days, they would install an idol and begin constructing the temple at a suitable site. Landslide Hits Ramban, Two Killed

February 08 Two persons including an assistant accounts officer (AAO) were killed in a landslide on Jammu-Srinagar Highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir Friday, officials said. The victims were crossing a landslide zone on foot in Maroog area, when landslide suddenly hit them, they said. The deceased have been identified as AAO Pramod Mankotia, resident of Himachal Pradesh, and Sanjit Lakara of West Bengal. The bodies have been shifted to district hospital Ramban for further formalities, the official added (PTI)

February 08 One more policemen have been rescued alive and shifted to Qazigund hospital while one body has also been retrieved from the snow avalanche site at Jawahar tunnel on Friday. Officials said efforts are on to trace the seven others at the site. According to SDRF officials two persons have been retrieved alive so far including SPO Gulzar ahmad mir retrieved earlier today.
