West Bengal Man Burns House as Brother Gets Government job, 4 killed

February 04 Angry over his younger brother securing a government job on compassionate grounds, a 30-year-old man allegedly set two rooms of their house on fire, killing four members of the family and injuring four others in West Bengal’s Malda district, police said Monday. The incident occurred at Madantola village under Manikchak police station, they said. Accused Makhan Mondal allegedly poured petrol in two rooms of the tiled-roofed hut on Sunday night when the family members were asleep. Makhan’s younger brother Gobinda, 28, elder brother Bikash, 32, and Goninda’s two daughters – aged 3 and one-and-a-half years – were charred to death, police said. 33 Injured as Bus Falls in a Gorge in Himachal

February 04 Thirty-three people were injured after a private bus fell into a gorge at Gopalpur in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district on Monday, a district official said. The condition of eleven of them is critical. Ten of them have been referred to the Tanda Medical College and one to a hospital in the district’s Palampur sub-division, he added. The others injured are being treated at a hospital in Gopalpur, he added. The accident took place after the bus — registration number HP28B1989 — of the Jawahar Bus Service fell into the gorge near Gopalpur Monday morning, he added. (PTI)

Shah Faesal Begins Political Innings, Addresses Huge Public Rally at Home Village

February 04 Former IAS officer Shah Faesal on Monday started his political innings by addressing thousands of people at Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) Kupwara. February 04 A cordon and search operation has been launched by Government Forces in Qazigund area of South Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday, the 19 RR of Indian Army, 176 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a search operation in Dalwach Area of Qazigund in South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) District. February 04 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Tarigam area of  South Kashmir's Kulgam district. On Monday, the forces including  RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Tarigam area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Kulgam locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. January 04 The Modi government has effectively given up on the Triple Talaq bill and the Citizenship Amendment Bill— that were awaiting consideration by the Rajya Sabha.
