January 04 The Modi government has effectively given up on the Triple Talaq bill and the Citizenship Amendment Bill— that were awaiting consideration by the Rajya Sabha. The opposition parties made clear that they could not guarantee smooth functioning of the House if any contentious bills were tabled. The decision on the bills to be tabled in the Upper House was taken at a meeting chaired by Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu that included government representatives and leaders of all the opposition parties. Missing Budgam Youth Arrested in Pulwama

February 02 A youth who was missing since January 23 has been arrested from Pulwama area of south Kashmir on Friday afternoon. Official sources said that the youth Azad Ahmad Dar son of Masood Dar from Dalwan area of Charar-i-Shareef, Budgam was arrested near Fruit Mandi Pulwama. However, there was no confirmation by police with regard to it. Azad went missing, a day after a gunfight took place in the Hapatnar area of the central Kashmir district in which three Al-Badr militants were killed. His family had also submitted a missing report with the local police. Pertinently, Adil Ahmad Ganie (24) son of Gulzar Ahmad Ganie of Hardu Dalwan has also gone missing from January 25, last month.
